Our mission is to enable a more efficient, modern, and digitalized manufacturing industry - especially in the United States.

Empire Dynamics was founded in 2015 in Albany, New York. Starting as a single-person consulting company serving the machine tool industry, Empire has grown into a well-recognized 10-person manufacturing engineering team serving all sectors of the CNC machining industry. Primarily through the deployment of NX CAM, Siemens Motion Control Software, and turnkey CNC solutions, Empire brings real world manufacturing experience to the production of real parts. Our team is a motivated group of critical thinkers that collectively wants to see change where change is due, and we spend our days working to realize that for ourselves and our customers. We take pride in the CNC technology we have developed and our ability to put it to use in a practical manufacturing setting.

LEADERSHIP

Jeff Moss, P.E.

President & Founder

Jeff Moss is a NYS licensed professional engineer with considerable experience in both manufacturing engineering and machine tool design. After obtaining both his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute he has specialized in production CNC solutions, CNC machine tool design, robotic integration, 5-axis machining, and advanced CAM process development. Jeff has a true passion for machine tools and American manufacturing and in 2015 founded Empire Dynamics.

Monica Moss, P.E.

VICE PRESIDENT & PARTNER

Monica Moss is a NYS licensed professional engineer with a background in wastewater and drinking water treatment. After obtaining her B.S in Environmental Engineering and M.S. in Aqueous Geochemistry, both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, she worked on the design and construction of wastewater treatment facilities. Monica has extensive experience with project management, design & spec review, Microsoft Word and Excel macro programming, technical writing, and program development.

Norah Olley

General Manager

Norah came to Empire Dynamics in 2021 after 10 years in the corporate renewable energy industry, where she supported companies like ESPN and Fortune 500 companies with their global climate strategies, implementation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting. She transitioned to managing the operations of the firm, focusing on financial management and process improvement. With an extensive consulting and operations background, she's developed an ability to solve complex problems while adapting to the needs of clients and bridging technical communication gaps.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING

John Hutchison

Project EngineerING MANAGER

John obtained his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and began his career working in the manufacturing and automotive world, including the big three and an EV startup. John brings extensive experience in the design, building, and testing of complex electromechanical systems. His areas of interest/expertise include energy storage systems, electrified vehicle modeling and design, CNC programming/macro development, and GD&T training/deployment.

Greg Kuchyt

Product ENGINEER

Greg spent 14 years working as a Linux jack of all trades for a SUNY campus and the University of Vermont before coming to Empire Dynamics. Greg entered the realm of machining on manual machines as a means to produce custom tools for volunteer work in the Vermont rock climbing community. On the way he discovered a whole world of manufacturing technology that has captured his interest ever since. Greg is excited by the idea of applying his professional experience programming and working on complex IT systems to the modern computer aided manufacturing environment.

Gary Wright

Senior Project Engineer

Gary has spent the past 40 years working in the Jet and Rocket Propulsion Industry, specifically focused on the manufacture of complex, high value components. The majority of Gary’s career involved the development of robust manufacturing processes using various CAD/CAM products. He has spent time designing tooling and developing machine simulations and post processors for the optimization of the CNC programming process. Gary is passionate about providing CAM tools to customers which will allow them to create accurate CNC programs with the confidence the code will be right the first time. Gary is a private pilot. He enjoys riding his motocross and street motorcycles as well as riding his new “RAD” electric bicycle.

Joseph Schmidt

Product Development Engineer

Joseph earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics at the University of Michigan - Flint. He enjoys making math ‘come to life’ using desktop manufacturing tools, especially Knot Theory with all of its unique patterns and shapes. He resides in southeast Michigan and enjoys hiking, biking, and exploring the state. He also enjoys working on small electronics projects with Raspberry Pis and Arduinos, and small coding projects in Python.

MECHANICAL & DESIGN ENGINGEERING

Matt Oakley

Senior Project Engineer

Matt comes to Empire Dynamics with diverse experience in manufacturing development. Since earning his B.S. in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Matt has spent his career improving manufacturing processes with creative and cost-effective solutions across a range of industries. His specialties include machine and tooling design, metrology, and LEAN / Six Sigma manufacturing practices.

Daniel Sturm

Project Engineer

Prior to Empire Dynamics, Dan spent 6 years working as an Engineering Technician for Black Diamond Equipment, developing and manufacturing mission critical rock and ice climbing hardware and skiing equipment. Simultaneously, Dan has been pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah. At Empire Dynamics, Dan works on mechanical design and engineering projects. In his spare time, Dan is a serious outdoor athlete focusing on climbing, mountain biking, trail running, and is also experienced in wood working and car restoration.
